Today in core we talked about frued, and this lead us to happiness and what makes us happy. Of course, the obvious next step is to discuss how money can't make you happy. And this is something that I believe. I believe that only having money, the ability to buy whatever you want, could not turly give someone true satisfaction in life. I mean, look at me, I want to teach elementary, I am never going to be rich (unless I marry that cute plastic surgeon who is looking for a nice poor gal to make his wife). That being said, you do have to realize that money is not evil, and simply having it does not make you uhappy. Some girl said, "if you look at the richest people, they are all unhappy", and to this crazy guy answered, "yeah, there have been studies done that show that the people with all the money are the most unhappy. They are always wanting more." |
I hate it when people say stuff like this. Okay, so maybe always wanting more is a byproduct of having the means to attain more, but it is pretty generalizing to say money=discontent. What kind of happiness test can you conduct?!? Just becasue we are not part of the upper upper class, does not mean we are the onlly ones with the secret to life. ugh! crazy guy and his stupid hippie love for everyeone and ideals for society....
